Albany State track and field athletes to compete at indoor national meet
Two Albany State University student-athletes will compete in the 2008 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held at Myers Field House at Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN on March 14-15.Garrion Martin and Rodney Coley both qualified for the 60-meter dash. Number two in the nation, Martin recorded a qualifying time of 6.77 seconds, and Coley, ranked ninth in the nation, recorded a time of 6.84 seconds.
“Albany State has produced two of the top athletes in the nation and we very excited to be in competition at this level. They represent no only Albany State, but the SIAC as well,” said Marvin Oliver, head men’s track and field coach. “These athletes have worked hard and deserve a chance to compete for the national championship title.”
