Holmes leads Benedict to the 2nd Round of NCAA Regionals

#2 seed Benedict defeated #7 seed Eckerd 70-49. SIAC Freshman of the Year and SIAC Tournament MVP Michael Holmes added a game high 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the way for Benedict. Bennie Lewis scored 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.

Benedict is the first SIAC team to advance to the second round of the NCAA Playoffs since the 1991 Morehouse team that advanced to the NCAA Semi-Finals.

Benedict advances to the regional semi-finals and will face the winner of the University of Tampa and Harding University on Sunday at 5:00 pm.

    “The team is on a winning streak right now”, is what some may say…. but i say they are all WINNERS. That’s a Very good look Holmes. Keep up the good work team and another title is only a few games away.
