SIAC Track & Field March 10-16 Recap

Albany State’s Rodney Coley finished in 2nd place at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships.

Women Athlete of the Week

Candice Camp (Albany State)
Candice competed at the Morehouse Relays in the Heptatholon scoring 3,836 points and finishing in 3rd place. Candice also competed in the Long Jump where she finished 4th, 4×100m Relay, and Triple Jump. In the Triple Jump she jumped 11.77 m to finish in 2nd place, which is a provisional distance for the NCAA National Championships.

Men Co-Athlete of the Week

Abraham Kiprotich (Morehouse)
Abraham competed at the Morehouse Relays in the 1500m Run and finished in first with a time of 4:19.35. He also ran the 3000m Steeplechase in 9:07.43 which is .43 off of the NCAA Championship Automatic qualify time 9:07.00.

Oneil Williams (Benedict)
Oneil ran the 3000m Run with a time of 8:53.47 and ran the 1500 in 3:48.53 to automatically qualify the NCAA ChampionshipRodney Coley of

Rodney Coley takes 2nd place at NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship

Rodney Coley of Albany State competed this past weekend in the 60 m dash at the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship in Mankato, MN and took home second place in the 60m. Coley finished with a season best time of 6.68 seconds, nearly ten one hundreths of a second faster than his previous season best of 6.77. Coley’s teammate Garrion Martin, who was ranked 9th in the nation, just missed qualifying for the finals after running his season best time of 6.82 in the preliminaries.

    where did Oneil Williams run the 8:53.47 3000m and the 3:48.53 1500?
