Morehouse wins 14th SIAC Track & Field Championship

For the third consecutive year Morehouse Men take home the SIAC Track & Field Championships. Morehouse has won their 14th title and third consecutive.

For the men, Morehouse dominated the field events to lead themselves to their 14th SIAC title. Morehouse scored 294.50 points while Albany State University finished 2nd scoring 186 points. Benedict College finished in 3rd place with 164 points. Morehouse athletes that finished in 1st place include: Turner Coggins (Shot Put), Barry Batson (Long Jump, Triple Jump), and Damian Prince (400m, 400m Hurdles).

mccrary.jpgEric McCrary was a bright spot for Albany State as he scored the most points in field events to win the SIAC Field Most Valuable Performer.

Oneil Williams of Benedict College dominated the track events winning the 800m, 10,000m Run, 1500m Run, 5000moneil.jpg Run and finishing second in the 3000m Steeplechase, to score 48 points. Williams was named the SIAC Track Most Valuable Performer. He also received the Cleve Abbott Award given to the athlete that scores the most points in the SIAC Track & Field Championships.

Coach Willie Hill of Morehouse was named the Outstanding Coach of the Championship Meet.
