Tuskegee men eliminated at NCAA DII Tennis South Regional
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The eighth-ranked Ouachita Baptist men’s tennis team surrendered just three games on the way to a convincing 5-0 victory over Tuskegee during the opening round of the NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Championships at the University of West Florida.
Against Tuskegee, Ouachita Baptist raced out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play as the team of Ondra Vana/Jakub Smid (No. 7) defeated Eric Palmer/Kudzai Sithole, 8-2. Vagen Akapian/Jan Plewinski beat Miles Narnor/Jabari Wesson, 8-1, while Issac Anders/Till Heilshorn blanked Miguel Cabral/Ryan Ross, 8-0.
In singles action, the Tigers completed the sweep as Vana (No.
blanked Mustafa Holland, 6-0, 6-0 and Anders defeated Narnor, 6-0, 6-0.
After winning the SIAC and advancing to the NCAA Division II South Regionals, Tuskegee finishes the season 21-5.
