Week 7 Cross Country Runners of the Week
Phyllis Shelman-Ford of Clark Atlanta and Toritich Dickson of Benedict have been named the Cross Country Runners of the Week for Week 7. Their respective teams were also named the teams of the week largely in part to their contributions.
Female Athlete of the Week
Phyllis Shelman-Ford (Clark Atlanta University)
Phyllis ran at the Southern Cross Country Challenge hosted by Chattahoochee Tech and completed the course in 21:33.00 in the 5k event.
Women’s Team of the Week
Clark Atlanta University
Clark Atlanta University competed at the Southern Cross Country Challenge hosted by Chattahoochee Tech. The team averaged a completion time of 22:47.00 and had a total time of 1:52:35.
Male Runner of the Week
Toritich Dickson (Benedict College)
Toritich ran at the Furman Invitational and completed the 8K course in 27:27.00. Toritich finished in 11th place out of 150 athletes.
Men’s Team of the Week
Benedict College
Benedict ran at the Furman Invitational and finished in 11th place out of 17 teams. The Tigers averaged 29:57.40 on the course and had a total time of 2:29:47.00.
Other teams competing at the Fuman Invitational included Claflin University and Paine College.
