so no fvsu wildcats were good enough to be on 1st or 2nd team??? whats going on???
November 19th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
Fort Valley State Linebacker Trenton Newton, who was the third leading tackler in the SIAC, and Steven A. Jackson, who led the SIAC in interceptions with 7, was not on the first or second teams. My question is why not ?
November 20th, 2008 at 10:50 am
I GUESS 7 TD AND 638 YARDS AINT GOOD ENOUGH TO MAKE ALL CONFERENCE
November 20th, 2008 at 11:23 am
WRONG! Lane and Kentucky State should not have gotten so many 1st and 2nd team votes. No way do they get these over Fort Valley. Modestly, Skegee only got 4 per team with their romp thru the league. ASU was overlooked for the Morehouse revitalization this year. Simply put, The voting looks biased and off point. Losing teams shouldn’t dominate your 1st and 2nd team rosters.
November 20th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
vincent Hill didnt make 1st or 2nd team i had 2 int, 55 tackles, and 13 passed defended was not good enough. No one throw to his side.. Thats crazy
November 20th, 2008 at 6:55 pm
tyren futch had 30 tackles and won freshmen of the year on a sorry team
November 21st, 2008 at 12:31 am
Great year for Tuskegee’s Atkinson too bad that there was no Pioneer Bowl. A Div II Playoff would have been great for Atkinson and Tuskegee demonstrate/test their ability to compete on the next level.
November 21st, 2008 at 2:34 am
WHAT HAPPEN TO BRANDON CUNNINGHAM NOT BEING ON ALL CONFERENCE TEAM 1 OR 2. I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY MOREHOUSE DIDN’T MAKE THE PLAYOFF. OTHER CONFERENCE HAD 3 TEAM AND TEAM WITH MORE LOSSES. IS THE VOICES THE SIAC GETTING WEAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 21st, 2008 at 6:01 pm
Fort Valley State Freshman Linebacker Bernard Goodrum’s name should have been put in for Freshman of the year. He started middle linebacker on a veteran defense. He had 22 tackles and 2 interceptions, one for a 48 yard touchdown, which was one of the longest returns in the SIAC.

Glad to see Stillman represented well individually, although they did not fair well this year as a team. There is STILL some talent down there in Tuscaloosa!
November 24th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
Morehouse had two Defensive linemen that were top 5 tacklers for linemen. #99 and #96. I guess numbers dont matter.
November 28th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
all of u people leaving comments sound like haters, the stats dont lie
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:06 am
The Numbers DON’T LIE…
Let’s review, shall we…
Albany State University has certainly been over looked!!!!
They rank #1 in SCORING DEFENSE, PASS DEFENSE, RUSHING DEFENSE, PASS EFFICIENCY DEFENSE AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST TOTAL DEFENSE!
But wait, not done yet! Here is how Albany’s defense ranks NATIONALLY…
PASS DEFENSE 4th, RUSHING DEFENSE 28th, PASS EFFICIENCY DEFENSE 10th AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST AGAIN TOTAL DEFENSE 6th.
WOW!!! Again the numbers do not lie! How can a defense who ranks #1 in their SIAC conference only have 1 player listed as 1st Team Honors? Okay so that is like Georgia being ranked #1 in the SEC Conference and only having one person receive Honors.
I know, I know, but I am a true football fan and I understand that stats are key that are the catalyst for the recipients of Team Honors. How could a team, again ranked NUMBER 1 in their conference and 6th nationally in 4 categories of the SIAC defensive conference,
have such low tackle totals??? The highest person tackle total was 47. OMG, 47 for an entire football season? When every other team has an defensive player on averaging 82 total seasonal tackles and numbers like 47 is the average range for those individual defensive players who rank 5th and lower. Who does their stats!!!!!!!!!!! Mr. MAGOO?
Something must be done about this!! I demand a recount!!!
Fine, I will start my own Team Honors – All Conference if you let me…
NT & DT Jermyah Graves #63
SS Mario Fuller #21
DB Isiah Gay #04
DE Develle Miller #97
This fact not fiction, check out how they rank on http://web1.ncaa.org/football/exec/rankingSummary?year=2008&org=13
paste and copy link and see the truth, I am telling you that the NUMBERS DON’T LIE!! I wonder what Coach Mike White and Albany State is going to do about this???
I heard that it’s hard to be a Ram, I bet it is at this point.

Glad to know that there are some CAU panthers on there…I see you Winston Thompson no one is messin w/ you….and Marcus Winston is a great defensive player, very skilled, go get them panthers! However, confused, why is anyone from Morehouse on there? They are garbage!
December 10th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
i do agree that 99 and 96 from morehouse shudda made it…esp 99 he was top five wt almost 60 tackles or a lil more depending on his last game…and he plays nose tackle…brandon cunningham?…lol…no sir…respect to all the fellow first teamers though
April 21st, 2009 at 9:44 am
