The Tennessee Titans have signed rookie free agent Ed Williams. Ed Williams’s contract was undisclosed but he signed on Monday, April 28 just one day removed from the NFL Draft weekend.

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has received information relative to the Lane College NCAA violations and is under careful review of the infractions. The SIAC will not penalize Lane College any further until official notice of all infractions has been formally submitted to the conference office by the NCAA.

Derita Ratcliffe, Athletics Director, at Kentucky State University has announced that the men and women basketball games against Lane College, scheduled for tonight, February 12, 2008 has been canceled do to inclement and unsafe weather conditions. The game is rescheduled for a later date prior to the SIAC Tournament.

The Women's SIAC recap includes Fort Valley State continuing their winning ways defeating Benedict and Albany State continuing a winning streak winning 7 of their last eight games including a big victory over Paine on the road. LeMoyne-Owen took a victory over Stillman but fell short against Tuskegee. Arch Rivals Miles and Stillman nearly went to overtime but Miles prevailed late. And the Clark Atlanta vs. Kentucky State game and Miles vs. Tuskegee were cancelled due to the snow storm that came through Georgia and Alabama on Saturday. Sylbrena Johnson of Stillman (left) had a stellar weekend despite two losses.

The weekend wrap includes Morehouse continuing their unbeaten streak at home as they outlast Lane. Benedict defeating Fort Valley State, while LeMoyne-Owen sweeps through the state of Alabama defeating Stillman and Tuskegee. Stillman bounced back to defeat Miles on MLK day and Tuskegee, Clark Atlanta, Kentucky State and Lane experienced the winter wonderland in Atlanta as a Snow storm cancelled some SIAC Action.

Benedict College outlasted a tough Albany State team to take sole possession of first place in the SIAC. Morehouse snapped a two game losing streak defeating Kentucky State to remain unbeaten at home. A last second jumper sealed a victory for Miles pushing them to victory as they rallied to take the win over LeMoyne-Owen. In other action, Clark Atlanta defeated Lane and Paine outlasted Fort Valley State in a high scoring match that saw each team have at least 5 players score in the double digits.

Albany State arrived 15 minutes before the game and still continued their winning streak as they defeated Benedict 73-60. While in other SIAC Action, Miles defeated LeMoyne-Owen, Fort Valley State defeated Paine, and Clark Atlanta won at home over Lane. Both Clark Atlanta and Albany State are riding a winning streak of at least 4 games with CAU riding a 6 game streak. Takesha Riggs of Fort Valley State led all scorers with 27 points.

The Albany State Golden Rams were presented their conference tournament championship rings from last season when Cameron was the interim coach; he was hired as the full-time coach late last year but struggled to hold off the winless Lane Dragons. While In Fort Valley, two late free throws by Player of the Week Kenny Jones (Left), sealed a come from behind victory to propel Kentucky State past a young Fort Valley State team.

Fort Valley State snapped a three game losing streak to defeat a tough Kentucky State team. In other SIAC Action Albany State won their 3rd of 4 games and dismantled Lane College by 28 points.
