The University of North Alabama claimed a 5-0 victory over Tuskegee while Benedict fell to second seeded West Florida 5-0 in the opening round of the NCAA Division II South Regional Championships held in Valdosta, GA & Pensacola, FL.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The eighth-ranked Ouachita Baptist men’s tennis team surrendered just three games on the way to a convincing 5-0 victory over Tuskegee during the opening round of the NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Championships at the University of West Florida.

The NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Tennis Committee has selected the teams and 16 first- and second-round sites of the 2008 NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Championships. Tuskegee University men's and women's team were automatic qualifiers. Benedict College women's team were chosen at large based on the prescribed criteria of the NCAA.

Tuscaloosa, AL – Tuskegee University claims both of the SIAC Tennis Championships. Tuskegee’s men win their 29th SIAC title while the women have won their 11th. The men’s championship is their fourth in the last five years.

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference will host the annual Spring Sports Championships April 16-20, 2008 in Tuscaloosa, AL on the campus of Stillman College. Highlighting this year's event is the SIAC Spring Sports Championship Opening Banquet on April 16 at Birthright Gymnasium. At the banquet the SIAC will announce the 2008 All Conference, All Academic, and Superlative Award recipients to over 1,000 participants.

In SIAC Men's & Women's Tennis Action, Stillman lost to Southern Arkansas 9-0, Fort Valley State Men lost to Florida Tech 8-1 and Fort Valley State Women lost 7-2 in an incomplete match. Benedict college defeated Albany State 5-3 in a make up session from the SIAC Tennis Roundup.
