Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference

 
ATLANTA, Ga. — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference today announced the seeding for the 2014 Baseball Championships, which will be played from Wednesday, April 23 through Saturday, April 26. The four-day championships will be hosted at historic Eagle Stadium in Ozark, Alabama.

The Golden Rams of Albany State University enter this year's tournament with the top seed in the Eastern Division, having posted a perfect 20-0 record in conference play (28-15 overall). Albany State will face the #4W Thorobreds of Kentucky State University (9-13 -SIAC; 13-34 overall) at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

For the third consecutive season, Stillman College (25-16 overall) will open conference tournament play as the top seed in the Western Division. The Tigers, who posted an 18-1 mark in conference play, will face the #4E Lions of Paine College (10-9 - SIAC; 13-26 overall) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.   

Other first round contests on Wednesday include: #2W Tuskegee University (10-10 - SIAC; 16-19 overall) vs. #3E Benedict College (11-8 - SIAC; 19-21 overall) at 9:00 a.m. and #2E Claflin University (14-6 - SIAC; 24-16 overall) vs. #3W Miles College (10-10 - SIAC; 17-19 overall) at 3:00 p.m.
