Blue and Roberts headline All SIAC Women's Basketball

ATLANTA - Miles College senior guard Porshia Blue captured three individual awards to spotlight the 2015 All SIAC Women's Basketball team and postseason honors as announced by the league.

Blue collected SIAC Player, Defensive and Newcomer of the Year awards with Chloe Roberts of Lane College voted Freshman of the Year.

Head coach Serena King-Coleman of Kentucky State University received Coach of the Year honors as all superlatives and awards were voted on by the league's head coaches.

Blue led the SIAC in scoring averaging 19.7 points per game which included leading MC (7-18, 4-14) in scoring in 21 of 25 games on the season. Her prowess as a scorer led MC in the category in 14 straight games.

She eclipsed the 20-point plateau on 11 occassions scoring 30 or more in two games, including a season high 31 points against Kentucky State on February 2. Blue also leads the Lady Bears in rebounds (154/7.7avg) and field goals (161).

Roberts finished the season ranked second in the SIAC in scoring with 18.2 points per game in addition to ranking among the league's top free-throw shooter at 83 percent. She opened the season leading the Lady Dragons in eight consecutive games while speaarheadeding the scoring efforts in 17 contests.

Roberts collected nine games in which she scored 20 or more points including a season high 29 against in a 63-62 upset over LeMoyne-Owen on February 7.

King-Coleman guided KSU (21-4, 16-2) to a western division crown and its first 20 win season since 1997. The 22 wins on the year improves a 12-15 overall record and a 7-9 slate in conference play last year. The Thorobrettes led the SIAC in scoring (69.5 ppg), margin of victory (8.9), field goal percentage (.449) and assists (15.2 ppg).

Blue and Roberts join Artisha Holston (Albany State), Shaquanda Wigins (Kentucky State), Uniqua Mitchell (Claflin), Latrice Sears (LeMoyne-Owen), Brittnee Hazel (Fort Valley State), Angel Mitchell (Stillman), Shaia Horton (Kentucky State), and Kristine Lesane (Benedict) on this year's all conference team.

Landing honorable mention included: Britenique Harrison (Benedict), Brieona Warner (Kentucky State), Carmenonique Dawson (Fort Valley State), Shakiema Ravenell (Claflin) and Mykala Jones (Clark Atlanta).
