No. 3 Central State defeats No. 6 Clark Atlanta

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 3 Central State defeated No. 6 Clark Atlanta 79-51 Tuesday afternoon in an opening round game at the 2016 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Women’s Basketball Tournament at Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Ala.
 
CSU improved to 14-13 overall with the win while the Panthers finished the season with a 6-21 mark.
 
The Marauders dominated the entire game and were led by Ghameerah McCullers who recorded 13 points and eight rebounds. McCullers also added four steals and three assists. Sierra Harley finished with 10 points.

Clark Atlanta’s top scorer was Mykala Jones who tabbed a game-high 16 points. Nekia Sockwell tallied 15 points.


The Marauders will face the No. 2 Miles on Thursday, March 2 at 1 p.m. in a quarterfinal game.
