BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 1 Stillman ran away in the second half to defeat No. 5 Tuskegee in a quarterfinal game of the 2016 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Men’s Basketball Tournament, Wednesday evening at Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Ala.
Stillman (24-5) got off to a hot start where it shot 55.2 percent in the first half. SIAC Player of the Year, Rodnerius Lewis led the Tigers in scoring with 18 points and recorded 15 of his points in the first half. Maurice Crenshaw added 15 points and Ronald Singleton finished with 10 points.
Tuskegee (14-13) was led by Kevin May who recorded a game-high 23 points and five rebounds. Elijah McMillan led the Golden Tigers with seven rebounds.
The Tigers advance to the semifinals where they will take on winner between No. 2 Morehouse and No. 3 Lane on Friday, March 4 at 7 :45 p.m.
