No. 1 Kentucky State rolls by No. 5 Stillman

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Top-seeded Kentucky State wasted no time in defeating No. 5 Stillman 86-53 in a quarterfinal matchup at the 2016 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Women’s Basketball Tournament, Wednesday evening at Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Ala.
 
KSU (23-3) notched its 16th consecutive victory as it advanced to the semifinals on Friday where it will take on the winner between No. 2 Albany State and No. 3 Central State at 5:30 p.m.
 
KSU took a comfortable 34-19 lead at halftime and continued to control the remainder of the game. KSU finished with three players in double-digit scoring as it was led by Jamesha Mosley’s 16 points. Mosley also finished with eight rebounds. Aliyah Gipson tallied 13 points and Joymesia Howard added 10 points and nine rebounds.

Stillman (11-16) was led by Joclyn Ramos who recorded 18 points and eight rebounds. Schenia Battle tallied 12 points. Victoria Douglas grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
