BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 3 Claflin advanced to the semifinals with a 79-64 victory over No. 2 Miles, Thursday evening in the 2016 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Men’s Basketball Tournament quarterfinals at Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Ala.
Claflin will face No. 4 LeMoyne-Owen in a semifinal contest set to take place Friday, March 4 at 3:15 p.m.
The Panthers (16-12 overall) placed a trio of players in double-digit scoring and were led by Trevor Dantzler and Adolph Caldwell who each had 17 points.
Miles closed out the 2015-16 season with a 17-13 record and were led by Maiscel Grier’s 16 points. Willie Gray added 15 points for the Golden Bears.
