ATLANTA (February 12, 2018) – Darrell Langston (Claflin), Brock Rountree (Albany State), and Eric Jenkins (Albany State) were named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Baseball Players of the Week as announced on Monday, February 12, by the league office.
Langston garnered Player of the Week honors while Rountree and Jenkins was named Co-Pitcher of the Week.

Langston recorded a .500 batting average for the week hitting 7-of-14 through four games. He paced the Panthers with two home runs, a double, and six RBI while scoring three runs. Langston hit a home run in back-to-back games over the weekend and tallied two RBI in the Panthers' 9-3 win over Virginia State.

After surrendering four runs (earned) in the second inning, Rountree responded giving up only one hit during the next four frames. He to helped keep Albany State steady and on its way to a 8-5 win over regional rival Valdosta State.
Before retiring at the end of the 6th inning, Rountree struck out two batters while the Golden Rams scored runs in the third, fourth amd sixth innings to even the game at four. In six innings of work, he led ASU with four strikeouts giving up two hits.

With Albany State trailing 5-4, Jenkins entered the game in relief to pick up his first career win on the mound in the Golden Rams' 8-5 win over Valdosta State. He appeared in 2.1 innings throwing two strikeouts without giving up a hit. His efforts helped ASU respond with four runs in the last two innings to secure the win.
