2018-19 SIAC All-Academic Honors Announced

ATLANTA, Ga. (June 25, 2019) – A record high, nine hundred and seventy three student-athletes, were named to the 2018-19 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Commissioner's All-Academic Team for maintaining at least a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average throughout the 2018-19 academic year.
 
Student-athletes with a 3.2 or higher were considered for all-academic team honors. The number of student-athletes selected in each sport is determined by the number of positions usually involved in that sport.
 
Thirty-three students from eight institutions recorded a 4.0 grade point average.
 
Miles College led all institutions for the second consecutive year by capturing five all-academic team awards in football, women’s and women’s basketball, golf, and baseball.
 
Spring Hill trailed behind the Golden Bears with four team awards in women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s tennis, and softball.
 
Morehouse and Central State rounded out all-academic team awards with two each. The Maroon Tigers captured team awards in men’s cross country and men’s track and field. The Marauders captured awards in women’s cross country and women’s track and field.
