Montevallo, AL - For the second consecutive year, Edward Waters' junior outside hitter Fatima Ramirez was selected to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-South Region First Team. The Belmopan, Belize native also adds this honor to her SIAC Player of the Year and First Team All-SIAC awards from this season.
Ramirez again led the SIAC in kills per set (5.06), service aces per set (0.58), and points per set (5.92) while leading her team to their third straight 20+ win season, finishing at 22-7, their second consecutive SIAC East Division Championship, and their second SIAC Tournament Runner-Up finish.
Ramirez is also one of two players on this year's All-Region team to repeat as a First Team selection and is the lone SIAC and HBCU representative on this year's squad. The award also makes her eligible for an opportunity to receive All-American honors.
