Offensive Player of the Week, while
D'Aaron McCraney (Central State) earned
Defensive Player of the Week.
Justin Yates (Fort Valley State) was tabbed
Setter of the Week, released by the league office on Thursday.
OFFENSIVE – Cameron Lee, Sophomore, Outside Hitter, Central State
Central State sophomore Cameron Lee recorded 33 kills while leading the Marauders to three wins over the weekend. He led all players with 17 kills in a four-set win over Adrian on Friday. He finished with 12 kills in Saturday's four set win over Thiel and had four kills in a three-set win over Maranatha Baptist.
DEFENSIVE – D'Aaron McCraney, Sophomore, Middle Blocker, Central State
Central State sophomore D'Aaron McCraney recorded 13 blocks in three wins over the weekend. He recorded 4 in a four-set win over Adrian on Friday. He matched a season-high 8 blocks in another four-set victory over Thiel on Saturday and added a block against Maranatha Baptist to close out the weekend.
SETTER – Justin Yates, Sophomore, Setter, Fort Valley State
In three matches, FVSU’s sophomore setter Justin Yates totaled 97 assists, 20 digs, and five kills last week. In the opening win against Lees-McRae, the California native had 32 assists, eight digs, and two kills. He added 37 assists, three digs, and a pair of blocks and kills against Belmont Abbey and finished with 28 assists, nine digs and a kill against Limestone.
