Week 6: Baseball Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (March 20, 2023) – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its baseball weekly honors, released by the league office on Monday.
 
Chase Karn (Albany State) was named Player of the Week, while Enrico Peele (Savannah State) earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Chase Karn, Albany State

Chase Karn has been instrumental to the Albany State Golden Rams offensively and defensively. The Golden Rams, who are (14-1) in the SIAC, swept the Edward Waters Tigers this past weekend. Karn had an impressive series as he was 9-of-13 from the plate with five runs, six RBI’s, four stolen bases, two doubles, and a home run to lead the Golden Rams.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK –  Enrico Peele, Savannah State

Peele pitched Savannah State to a shutout 4-0 win over Benedict this weekend with an excellent 7.0 innings on the mound. Peele allowed four hits, no runs, no walks, registering six strikeouts against 24 batters. Peele improved to 5-1 on the season with a 2.51 ERA in six appearances. He leads the SIAC in victories this year and is ranked No. 13 in NCAA Division II.
