ATLANTA, Ga. (March 23, 2023) – Isaiah Fedd (Fort Valley State) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Men’s Volleyball
Offensive Player of the Week, while
Oneil Daley (Edward Waters) earned
Defensive Player of the Week.
Justin Yates (Fort Valley State) was tabbed
Setter of the Week, released by the league office on Thursday.
OFFENSIVE – Isaiah Fedd, Freshman, Outside Hitter, Fort Valley State
Freshman outside hitter Isaiah Fedd downed nine kills and three digs to guide the FVSU attack against Lincoln Memorial last weekend. In a match against Tusculum, Fedd finished with top FVSU honors with 12 kills, five digs, four blocks, and three assists.
DEFENSIVE – Oneil Daley, Sophomore, Defensive Specialist/Setter, Edward Waters
EWU’s sophomore Oneil Daley matched his season-high 10 digs in a three-set win over Benedict last Friday. Earlier in the week, he added four digs in a match against Limestone. Daley currently leads the Tigers defensive effort with 51 total digs this season.
SETTER – Justin Yates, Sophomore, Setter, Fort Valley State
In a match against Lincoln Memorial last weekend, sophomore setter Justin Yates handed out 14 assists. Against Tusculum, Yates contributed 32 assists, six kills, six digs and an ace. The sophomore setter is currently ranked Top 35 in the NCAA for assists per set averaging 8.47 per set.
