Offensive Player of the Week, while
Richard Hendricks (Edward Waters) earned
Defensive Player of the Week.
Kendersley Marcellin (Benedict) was tabbed
Setter of the Week, released by the league office on Thursday.
OFFENSIVE – Ras Jesse Delancy, Sophomore, Outside Hitter, Benedict
Ras Jesse Delancy had a monster week for the Tigers, who went 1-2 overall and 1-1 in SIAC play. Delancy started the week with 17 kills and hitting .270 in a three-set loss to Reinehardt. On Friday, he had 36 kills and hit .289 in a five-set thrilling win over Fort Valley State. On Saturday, he had 16 kills and hit .205 in a three-set loss to Edward Waters. For the week, he recorded 69 kills and hit .262. He also served two aces and had two block assists.
DEFENSIVE – Richard Hendricks, Freshman, Outside Hitter, Edward Waters
EWU’s freshman Richard Hendricks contributed as an all-around player for the Tigers. The outside hitter posted his first double-double with 14 kills and 14 digs in an exciting five-set match against Webber International last week. He also added four total blocks and three service aces in the match. In a win over Benedict, he added three digs and a service ace. He wrapped up the week leading the Tigers to a sweep of Fort Valley State where he collected nine digs and a service ace. On the week, EWU posted a 3-1 record and remained undefeated in conference play.
SETTER – Kendersley Marcellin, R-Freshman, Setter, Benedict
Kendersley Marcellin had a career-high 50 assists (on 56 total team kills) in Benedict's five-set win over Fort Valley State. He also had 23 in a three-set loss to Edward Waters and nine in two sets of action in a three-set loss to Reinhardt. For the week, he averaged 8.2 assists per set.
