ATLANTA, GA - In what promises to be a thrilling matchup, the Central State Marauders are set to clash with the Miles College Golden Bears this Saturday at McPherson Memorial Stadium. The history between these celebrated programs adds an extra layer of anticipation to the contest, with Miles having bested Central State on seven occasions since 2013. The most recent encounter saw the Golden Bears emerge victorious with a final score of 34-14.
In Week 5, the Marauders are determined to turn the tide and secure a pivotal victory during this home contest. Head coach
Kevin Porter, a seasoned veteran in the world of football, leads the team and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Central State. Porter assumed the role in December 2021 with nearly two decades of coaching experience, including head coaching stints at Fort Valley State University, Avila University, and Point University. With his leadership, the Marauders aim to overcome their 0-2 conference record and delight their fans with a much-needed win.
Under the guidance of head coach and former NFL standout
Sam Shade, the powerhouses of Miles College are looking to maintain their momentum, coming in with a 2-0 record in conference play. Before taking the reins at Miles College, Shade held positions as an assistant football coach for the Cleveland Browns, Georgia State University, and Samford University, and as head football coach and athletic director for Pinson Valley High School, demonstrating his extensive experience on the field.
