SIAC Women's Volleyball Weekly Honors: Oct. 2

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week on Wednesday, Oct. 2, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in matches played last week. Benedict’s Desire' Young and Brandi Seaborn, alongside LeMoyne-Owen’s Jadyn Harris and M'Jai Watkins were recognized.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DESIRE' YOUNG, BENEDICT COLLEGE
Middle Blocker | Sophomore | Aurora, Colo.
In the week's only match, Young led Benedict with 15 kills in a 3-1 win over Allen. Young hit .500 (24 attacks, three errors and 15 kills) to go along with three solo blocks and one block assist.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – BRANDI SEABORN, BENEDICT COLLEGE
Defensive Specialist | Senior | Detroit, Mich.
Seaborn had a season-high 22 digs in Benedict's 3-1 victory over Allen.

SETTER OF THE WEEK – JADYN HARRIS, LEMOYNE-OWEN COLLEGE
Setter | Sophomore | Fort Worth, Texas

Harris finished the week with a career-high 49 assists in the Lady Magicians' non-conference match against Tougaloo.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – M'JAI WATKINS, LEMOYNE-OWEN COLLEGE
Middle Blocker | Freshman | Columbia, Mo.
Watkins tallied a season-high 13 kills in the team's non-conference match against Tougaloo. She also had three blocks, giving her the best performance for the Lady Magicians.
