ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 19, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.
Keyra Peterson (
Albany State) and
Zhieyah Rolack (
Central State) were recognized.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KEYRA PETERSON, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Guard/Forward | Junior | Atlanta, Ga.
Peterson delivered outstanding performances in the opening games of the season. She started strong against Paine College, finishing with a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds. In the following game, she scored another 13 points, just missing a double-digit rebound tally.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – ZHIEYAH ROLACK, CENTRAL STATE UNIVERSITY
Forward | Freshman | Dayton, Ohio
Rolack has been instrumental in the Marauders' 2-1 start this season. After two solid performances to open her freshman campaign, she delivered a breakout game against West Virginia State, tallying 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Rolack achieved the 30-point effort on an efficient 13-of-16 from the field, including a flawless 3-of-3 from beyond the arc.
