Spring Hill’s Weaver named to D2 CCA All-South Second Team

MONTEVALLO, Ala. — Spring Hill College volleyball outside hitter Airyonna Weaver garnered her second all-region award of the season when she was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) All-South Region Second Team on Wednesday.
 
Weaver earned her first career All-South Region Second Team nod after leading Spring Hill to its sixth-straight Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship. The all-region award marked the second of the year for Weaver. She was earned an AVCA All-South Region Honorable Mention on Dec. 4.
 
The Mobile, Ala., native was named the SIAC Player of the Year, Tournament MVP while earning spots on both the All-Conference First Team and All-Tournament Team.
 
The senior passed the 1,000-career kill mark this season and led the Badgers with 283 on the year. She was a dominant force on defense as well, recording 270 digs. In addition, Weaver tallied 32 service aces and 60 total blocks.
 
SHC is set to make its sixth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance against Lynn on Friday at 7 p.m. (ET) in Boca Raton, Fla.
