Nwokocha was named to the second team at defensive line. He was a SIAC All-Conference first team selection after a stellar season, which saw him finish second in the SIAC and ninth nationally in sacks per game with 0.85. He also ranked third in the SIAC and 25th nationally in tackles for loss per game (1.4). He also blocked one kick and recorded a safety.

Super Region Two consists of member schools from the SIAC, Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), Gulf South Conference (GSC) and the South Atlantic Conference (SAC). The team is voted on by the region's sports information directors.

The D2CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.

First team all-region selections will be placed on the ballot for All-America consideration.
