ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced weekly honors for men's and women's basketball Tuesday, Feb. 20. Tuskegee’s Kusamae Draper was named Men's Basketball Player of the Week, while Clark Atlanta’s Kharye Cayne was named Men's Basketball Newcomer of the Week. Miles’ Feliah Greer took home the title of Women's Basketball Player of the Week, and Kentucky State’s Jayln Shelby was named Women's Basketball Newcomer of the Week.
MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Kusamae Draper, Tuskegee University

Draper put up career numbers over the past week in a pair of overtime wins against LeMoyne-Owen and Spring Hill. The forward started the week with 21 points and career-highs of 19 rebounds and 45 minutes, including eight offensive boards. The sophomore went 9-of-17 from the field and tallied four assists, one block and a steal against the Magicians. He followed that with 14 points and eight rebounds against Spring Hill, helping Tuskegee defeat the Badgers 85-77 in overtime Saturday.
MEN'S BASKETBALL NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK - Kharye Cayne, Clark Atlanta University

Kharye Cayne currently leads the conference in blocks with 88 total on the season for an average of 3.5 per game. The Raleigh native posted a double-double performance with blocks and rebounds after swatting 10 blocks and pulling down 10 rebounds in a win over Morehouse, placing the Panthers in first place in the SIAC East. Cayne rejected seven shots in a win over Edward Waters Monday and notched double-digit rebounds in all games last week.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Feliah Greer, Miles College

After missing the previous 11 games due to a wrist injury, Greer returned, tallying four rebounds and four assists before scoring a game-high 25 points. Dominant in the second half, the junior guard scored 17 points — seven in the last five minutes — along with a bucket that broke a tie midway through the final period, significantly contributing to the Lady Bears' victory over Clark Atlanta.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK - Jayln Shelby, Kentucky State University

Shelby continues to make an impact for Kentucky State. The freshman forward scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds at Miles before leading KSU with a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds at home against Central State.
