3/13/2024 5:56:08 PM Clark Atlanta's Alfred Jordan crowned HBCU National Coach of the Year as BOXTOROW announces 15th annual HBCU Division II All-America honors Share Tweet Pin it +1 E-mail Print ATLANTA — BOXTOROW released its 15th annual Division II HBCU All-America teams March 12, naming Clark Atlanta's Alfred Jordan HBCU Division II Coach of the Year and HBCU National Coach of the Year. Players from Clark Atlanta, Central State, Benedict, Miles, Tuskegee and Spring Hill received first-team and second-team All-America honors. In his second season as Clark Atlanta's head men's basketball coach, Jordan led the Panthers through a historic season (25-5, 16-5 SIAC), winning 17 more games than the previous year. The Panthers closed the 2023-24 season as the No. 1 seed in the east division and advanced to the 2024 SIAC Basketball Tournament presented by Cricket, where they secured the 2024 SIAC Men's Basketball Championship title, the first since 2017 and under Jordan's leadership. The Panthers will compete as the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Division II Regional tournament on March 16 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., their first appearance since 2018.
