ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced weekly honors for men's and women's track and field on Wednesday, March 20. Albany State's Kibren Moore was named Men's Track Athlete of the Week, while Benedict's Rajaun Ricketts was named Men's Field Athlete of the Week. Cadence Cray brought home additional honors for Albany State as Women's Track Athlete of the Week, and Fort Valley State's Miniya Miller was named Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Kibren Moore, Albany State University
Junior | Mableton, GA
Moore finished first in the 100-meter (10.14 seconds) and 200-meter (20.78 seconds) at the Emory Spring Break Classic, leading the nation in both events. The Mableton native secured additional accolades as a member of the first-place 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams.
MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Rajaun Ricketts, Benedict College
Sophomore | St. Ann, Jamaica
Ricketts opened the outdoor season at the 49ers Classic, finishing second in both the long jump, with a leap of 7.15 meters, and the triple jump, reaching 14.90 meters. These performances rank him second in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump in Division II.
WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Cadence Cray, Albany State University
Freshman | Baxley, GA
Cray finished first in the 100-meter with a time of 11.84 seconds and second in the 200-meter at 25.00 seconds in the Emory Spring Break Classic.
WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Miniya Miller, Fort Valley State University
Junior | Snellville, GA
Miller had the best performance for FVSU at the Bob Hayes Invitational in North Florida, placing third in the hammer throw at 43.62 meters and fifth in the discus at 38.69 meters.
