ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced weekly honors for men's volleyball Tuesday, March 26. Fort Valley State's Jaxon Hicks was named Men's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. Chey Cooper and Jose Gallardo continued the sweep for the Wildcats, receiving Men's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week and Setter of the Week honors, respectively.
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Jaxon Hicks, Fort Valley State University

Hicks was an offensive force in last week's matches, accumulating 21 kills with only three errors on 32 total attacks for an exceptional .563 hitting percentage. He excelled against the defending SIAC champions, Edward Waters University, with 13 kills, no errors and a remarkable .722 hitting percentage, complemented by two assists, three service aces, three block assists and five digs.
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Chey Cooper, Fort Valley State University

Chey Cooper stood out defensively last week, tallying 17 kills, six service aces, four block assists and eight digs with a .417 hitting percentage for the week. His performance was crucial in matches against Benedict College and the defending SIAC champions, Edward Waters University, contributing to his team's defensive strengths with consistent play across all matches.
MEN'S VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK - Jose Gallardo, Fort Valley State University

Jose Gallardo recorded 45 assists over the week, adding service aces and seven digs to his contribution. Against Benedict College, Gallardo recorded 26 assists and a service ace, demonstrating versatility and skill in his position.
