ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced weekly honors for baseball Tuesday, April 9. Spring Hill's Eli Benoit was named Baseball Player of the Week, and Miles' Nick Copen was named Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Eli Benoit, Spring Hill College

Benoit led the Badgers to a series sweep against LeMoyne-Owen last week. In total, he went 6-for-10 with two grand slams, 15 RBI, two doubles and six runs scored while playing in both the outfield and behind the plate.
BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK - Nick Copen, Miles College

Copen got the win in his only start of the week, holding Edward Waters to just one run and five hits over 6 innings in a 4-1, 7-inning win. He allowed a run in the first inning and did not allow multiple runners on base until there were two outs in the seventh. He walked two and struck out four to improve to 5-2 on the season.
