VALDOSTA, Ga. — The Spring Hill College men's tennis team's 2024 season concluded after it fell 4-0 to No. 3 Valdosta State in the 2024 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship South Regional at the VSU Tennis Complex on Monday.
Valdosta State (21-3, 8-1 GSC) received the No. 1 seed in the regional and was ranked third in Division II in the latest ITA team rankings on May 2. Spring Hill (18-9, 12-0 SIAC) was the automatic qualifier for the SIAC after securing its second-straight conference championship and the No. 8 seed in the regional.
Philip Bosman and
Rafael Lima came close to keeping the doubles point in reach for the Badgers, but fell 6-3.
In singles play,
Tom Gutermann narrowly dropped his first set 7-5 before his match was ended early when the Blazers clinched the match point on court No. 6.
