Gutermann, Kern, Marin Sabao, and Pager garner CSC Academic All-District Honors

MOBILE, Ala. — College Sports Communicators announced its 2024 Academic All-District Teams for men’s and women’s tennis Tuesday naming Spring Hill’s Tom Gutermann, Paul-Phillip Kern, Paola Marin Sabao, and Emma Pager to its list of honorees.
 
The CSC Academic All-District program honors the nation's top student-athletes for combined performances in their respective sports and the classroom. Selected student-athletes must be starters and maintain a minimum 3.50 GPA on a 4.0 scale to qualify for the CSC All-District Team.

Men's and women's tennis student-athletes must compete in 70% of the team's matches that include team scoring.
 
SIAC HONOREES
Tom Gutermann holds a 3.69 GPA as a business administration major. The sophomore earned 2024 SIAC All-Conference Singles and Doubles Team honors and was named to the 2024 SIAC All-Tournament Singles and Doubles Teams. Gutermann posted an 11-0 singles record in conference play (16-8 overall) and secured an 8-1 finish in conference doubles (14-10 overall).
 
Redshirt junior Paul-Phillip Kern boasts a 3.91 GPA while pursuing his degree in international business. The 2023-24 SHC Male Scholar Athlete was named to the 2024 SIAC All-Conference Doubles Team and secured 2024 SIAC All-Tournament Doubles Team honors. Kern went 10-0 in conference singles (13-9 overall) and 8-1 in conference doubles play (14-10 overall) alongside Gutermann.
 
Sophomore Paola Marin Sabao earned a 3.92 GPA while pursuing a degree in actuarial mathematics. On the season, the Cadiz native went 3-1 in conference doubles play (3-2 overall).
 
Junior Emma Pager, a transfer from Coastal Alabama Community College, holds a 3.88 GPA while majoring in management information systems. The Spanish Fort native went 9-7 in conference singles (10-18 overall) and 6-8 in conference doubles play (9-17 overall).
 
Gutermann, Kern, Marin Sabao and Pager advance to the 2024 CSC Academic All-America ballot. College Sports Communicators will announce its first-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees June 4-5, 2024, beginning with women's tennis.
