MOBILE, Ala. —
Spring Hill's Bailey Cox and
Leighanna Turk were named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Softball Academic All-District Team.
The CSC Academic All-District program honors the nation's top student-athletes for combined performances in their respective sports and the classroom. Selected student-athletes must be starters and maintain a minimum 3.50 GPA on a 4.0 scale to qualify for the CSC All-District Team.
Cox, a redshirt junior from Bay Minette, Ala., earned a 3.55 GPA and is majoring in elementary education. She hit .250 with 20 RBIs, slugged .307 and held a .719 OPS. Cox stole six bases through eight attempts and recorded a .412 on-base percentage.
Turk owned a 3.68 GPA while pursuing her degree in health science. The sophomore pitcher landed a spot on the SIAC All-Conference Second Team this season. She held a 4.28 ERA and 1.21 WHIP across 90.1 innings pitched. She posted an 8-8 record and combined for three shutouts. Turk allowed the least amount of hits, runs, earned runs and doubles on the team.
