DAYTONA, Fla. —
Edward Waters' Ian Kimutai finished first overall at the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Challenge on Saturday, completing the men’s 8,000-meter event in 26:09.1, at least seven seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Overall, the Tigers placed 11th out of 12 teams in the men's division.
Elvis Kimutai placed 100th overall for EWU, followed by
Samuel Vessat,
Jahmier Jackson and
Amari McKinnon.
The Lady Tigers placed 13th out of 13 teams in the women's 5,000-meter event, with
Paris McKinnon leading the team in 79th place. McKinnon was followed by
Sammya Brown,
De'nayizsa Fance,
Abigail Watt,
Valerie Brown,
Arielle Brown and
Nyela Sims.
The Edward Waters cross country teams will return to action Saturday, Oct. 5, as they travel to Naples, Fla., for the Ave Maria Cross Country Invitational.
