SIAC Cross Country Weekly Honors: Sept. 24

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Cross Country Runners of the Week on Tuesday, Sept. 24, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances last week. Edward Waters’ Ian Kimutai and Albany State’s Zenay Rhaney were recognized.

MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – IAN KIMUTAI, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Freshman | Eldoret, Kenya
Ian Kimutai finished first overall at the Embry-Riddle XC Challenge with a time of 26:09.1, more than seven seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. It was Kimutai's first collegiate race as he helped the Tigers to an 11th-place finish.

WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – ZENAY RHANEY, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Senior | LaGrange, Ga.
Rhaney led the Lady Golden Rams to another 4th place finish in the Julius Johnson Invitational. She ran a season-best time of 20.22 and finished in the top 30. Rhaney is just a few seconds off from breaking her own career-best time. Her drive and tenacity continue to be a driving force for the Lady Golden Rams as they compete each to ensure they place in the top five.
