ATLANTA — The SIAC will participate in 10 matchups this week, with five games televised/streamed nationally. Here's a list of the matchups and where to watch the games.
CENTRAL STATE AT GRAND VALLEY STATE - FloSports
Thursday, September 5 at 7 p.m. ET
Central State, coming off a 10-17 loss to Morehead State, will face Grand Valley State in its home opener on Thursday at Lubbers Stadium.
The Marauders enter the week with kicker/punter
Jose Chaires earning SIAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Chaires averaged 33 yards on seven punts, with a long of 50 yards, last week. He also contributed an extra point and a field goal to the Marauders' tally.
Grand Valley State enters the game after finishing the 2023 season 11-2 overall and 6-0 in Great Lakes Conference play.

EDWARD WATERS AT FLORIDA MEMORIAL - HBCU+

Big Cat Classic
Edward Waters, fresh off a 28-11 win over
Morehouse, will face Florida Memorial in the fourth annual Big Cat Classic at Betty T. Ferguson Stadium in Miami Gardens.
Florida Memorial went 6-4 overall and 5-2 in Sun Conference play last season. The team also led the conference in rushing and finished third in passing.

Albany State, following a 10-42 loss to Valdosta State, will host Shaw in its home opener at the Albany State University Coliseum.

MILES AT ALABAMA STATE - ESPN+
Saturday, September 7 at 6 p.m. ET
Miles, after a narrow 15-16 loss to West Alabama, will take on Alabama State at ASU Stadium.
Last season, the Golden Bears rallied with 14 points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Hornets 21-17.

Clark Atlanta will host
Allen in its home opener at Panther Stadium after celebrating its 45-42 season-opening victory over
Fort Valley State.
Two Panthers received SIAC weekly honors for their week zero performances.
David Wright, the reigning SIAC Offensive Player of the Year, was named Offensive Player of the Week, and cornerback
Dahlil Wilkinswas named Defensive Player of the Week.
Allen, led by new head coach
Cedric Pearl, finished last season 7-3 overall and 5-3 in the SIAC.

Lane will open its season at Jackson State in the W.C. Gorden Classic at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium, marking the teams’ first meeting since 1972.
The Dragons, under the direction of fourth-year head coach
