Lane women’s volleyball celebrates season-opening victory

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Lane College women’s volleyball team kicked off their 2024 campaign this weekend as they hosted the third Annual Dragons Classic at J.F. Lane Gymnasium.

Under the leadership of head coach Alexis Emanuel, the team picked up their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Harris-Stowe.

Newcomer Kristina Lichtenhan recorded a team-high nine kills, followed by Kyra Gaston, who picked up eight. Anayah Goss led the way on the back line with 22 digs.

Assists were distributed evenly in game one, as Syraia Harvey and Shaniah Jones registered 12 each.

Lane will host Henderson State on Monday, Sept. 9, at 6:30 p.m. CT.
