ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Jan. 14, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.
Kevin Sesberry (

Edward Waters) were recognized.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KEVIN SESBERRY, TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY
Guard | Senior | Lithonia, Ga.
Sesberry had another great scoring week, averaging 24.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game in two games last week. In Tuskegee's road game against Edward Waters, Sesberry played 39 minutes, scoring a team-high 22 points, shooting 4-for-9 from beyond the arc. Additionally, he made 6-for-9 free throws, contributed eight rebounds and two steals. In the home win against LeMoyne-Owen, Sesberry played 34 minutes, finishing with a game-high 26 points. He shot 8-for-17 from the field, including 5-for-11 from three-point range, while also going a perfect 5-for-5 free throws. He grabbed eight rebounds, including four offensive boards, and had one assist, one block, and one steal. His solid all-around performance helped Tuskegee secure the win.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – JA’KOBE WILLIAMS, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY

Williams surpassed the 1,000-point career milestone mark in a 72-67 overtime home victory over Tuskegee last week. He scored a game high 23 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in 39 mins of action. Williams added five points, four rebounds, three assists in the 87-83 road win over Fort Valley State on Saturday. His biggest contribution to that contest was a late game-sealing block that led to a fast break slam for teammate Amari Floyd to secure the win for Edward Waters and make them 2-0 in SIAC play for the week.
