SIAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors: Jan. 28

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Jan. 28, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Walter Peggs Jr. (Spring Hill) and Ramar Pryor (Central State) were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – WALTER PEGGS JR., SPRING HILL COLLEGE
Guard | Senior | Jackson, Tenn.
Peggs led scoring in back-to-back games with 26 points against both Central State and Lane. The senior guard shot 52 percent from the floor in both contests and hit six 3-pointers against the Marauders. The Jackson, Tenn., native continues to lead the country, averaging 26.3 points per game. He also leads the SIAC in field goals, points and three point percentage.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – RAMAR PRYOR, CENTRAL STATE UNIVERSITY
Guard | Junior | Canton, Ohio
Pryor had another solid week for a balanced-scoring Marauders team. He averaged 17.5 points per game during the week, scoring 17 points in a win over Spring Hill and 18 points in a victory over LeMoyne-Owen. A transfer from Cleveland State, Pryor leads the Marauders in scoring with an average of 12.8 points per game.
