SIAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honors: Jan. 28

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Jan. 28, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Trinity Jones (Clark Atlanta) and Mia Morel (Edward Waters) were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – TRINITY JONES, CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY
Guard | Graduate | Americus, Ga.
Jones has been an integral part of the Lady Panthers' offense for years. This past week, she came off the bench and scored 21 points (6-of-12 FG, 4-for-8 3 PT, and 5-6 FT) in a win over Edward Waters on Monday, followed by a 16-point performance (6-of-15 FG, 1-4 3 PT, 3-4 FT) in a win over Albany State on Saturday. Clark Atlanta improved to 14-5 overall with both wins and remains in first place in the SIAC East Division standings.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – MIA MOREL, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Point Guard | Junior | Madison, Wis.
Morel tied a game high with 21 points to go along with seven rebounds and three steals in a loss to Clark Atlanta last week. She followed with four points and six rebounds in a win over Benedict on Saturday.
