SIAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors: Jan. 7

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Jan. 7, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played Dec. 16 through Jan. 4. Blaise Wallace (Albany State) and Ramar Pryor (Central State) were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – BLAISE WALLACE, ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY
Forward | Sophomore | Tallahassee, Fla.
Wallace, a dominant force for the Albany State Golden Rams, recorded three consecutive double-doubles to lead the team to three straight wins in the new year.

Against Shorter, Wallace tallied 15 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. He followed with 26 points, 14 rebounds and four assists against Lane, then capped the team's victory over LeMoyne-Owen with 16 points, 13 rebounds and four assists.

His scoring, rebounding and playmaking have given Albany State the edge needed to secure these victories.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – RAMAR PRYOR, CENTRAL STATE UNIVERSITY
Guard | Junior | Canton, Ohio
Pryor demonstrated his all-around ability to impact the game in two matchups last week.

In an overtime road win against Allen, Pryor contributed 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and four steals in 40 minutes, playing a pivotal role in the Marauders' victory.

Against Benedict, he scored 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting (58.3%) and added seven rebounds, one assist and two steals, showcasing another strong performance.
