Benedict Teams Compete At Royals Cross Country Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Benedict men's and women's cross country teams competed against some of the Southeast's top runners in the Royals Cross Country Challenge at McAlpine Park on Friday afternoon.
 
Caren Kipkoech was Benedict's top finisher, coming in 41st overall with a time of 21:03.25 over the women's 5K course. Mercy Kwambai finished in 103rd, with a time of 23:48.57. Destinee Tiller was 132nd with a time of 27:31.01. Torriann Noad finished 135th with a time of 28:09.60.
 
For the men, the Tigers only had two runners competing over the 8K course. Quincy Harris finished 164th with a time of 36:00.14, while William Fennoy was close behind, finishing 166th with a time of 36:59.04.
 
The Benedict men's and women's teams will compete in the Harden Street Challenge meet on Wednesday at Owens Field.
