ATLANTA — It’s on to the final two and a half weeks of the 2025 regular season as Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women’s volleyball teams vie for conference tournament positions.
While the West Division regular-season title has been decided, with Spring Hill having a seven-game lead, the East Division’s top two teams, Fort Valley State and Albany State, have their big Friday night rematch as three games continue to separate the top four programs.
Last week, the SIAC had nearly half of its teams post winning records. Spring Hill led the group as it continued it run of victories to 17-straight after a 4-0 record of the two-day SIAC West Cluster in Memphis.
Right behind Spring Hill last week, Tuskegee moved up in the West Division standings with a 3-1 record at the West Cluster. The Golden Tigers improved to 4-1 across its five matches, including three shutouts.
In the East Division, Edward Waters turned in its best week of the year. After falling early in the week to East Division leader Fort Valley State, EWU rattled off three consecutive 3-0 shutouts over Albany State, Benedict and Allen.
Miles had the other three-win week, while both Fort Valley State and Central State finished the week 2-1.
The Golden Bears will travel south in Alabama to face Spring Hill for the top West Division match on Thursday.
The biggest match of the week takes place Friday evening. Fort Valley State had to run off three-set wins in a row for a 3-2 win at Albany State on Oct. 3. The two rivals will enter the rematch one game apart with FVSU at 12-2 and ASU at 10-3. Albany State will host Clark Atlanta on Thursday.
Also in the East, Savannah State will travel to Benedict on Thursday, and Fort Valley State will host Allen on Saturday morning.
Clark Atlanta will host Edward Waters and Savannah State next week on Monday and Wednesday, respectively.
Benedict will face East Division leader Fort Valley State in an early evening match Wednesday.
