SIAC Men's Basketball Weekly Honors: Nov. 25

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Men's Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 25, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Josiah Lawson (Morehouse) and Keshawn Evans (Edward Waters) were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JOSIAH LAWSON, MOREHOUSE COLLEGE
Forward | Sophomore | Stone Mountain, Ga.
Lawson came off the bench but helped lead the Maroon Tigers to a 2-0 SIAC road swing, averaging 22.0 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 68% from the field (19-of-28) and 63% from three (5-of-8) in wins at Albany State and Spring Hill. He opened the week with a game-high 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting, adding four rebounds, a steal and an assist in a 77-54 win at Albany State. He followed with an even bigger performance at Spring Hill, scoring a game-high 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, with six rebounds, a block and a steal in an 83-60 victory. Across the two games, Lawson committed no turnovers while leading Morehouse in scoring in both contests and helping the Maroon Tigers move to 2-0 in SIAC play.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – KESHAWN EVANS, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Forward | Junior | Atlanta, Ga.
Evans continued his strong play in EWU’s road victories over Lane and LeMoyne-Owen, averaging 19.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals on 8-for-15 shooting (53%) and 21-for-30 (70%) from the foul line. He finished with 26 points, eight rebounds, four steals and two assists in 40 minutes of action in a 91-88 win over Lane before closing the weekend with 13 points, six rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes in a road win over LeMoyne-Owen.
