ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Football Players of the Week on Tuesday, Nov. 4, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DENIM JOHNSON, KENTUCKY STATE UNIVERSITY
Quarterback | Junior | Humble, Texas
Johnson delivered a record-setting performance in the Thorobreds’ win over Clark Atlanta, posting 393 passing yards—the second-highest single-game total in the SIAC this season. Johnson completed 16 of 21 passes with five touchdowns, showcasing exceptional efficiency and command of the offense in one of the league’s top passing performances of the year.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DYLAN PURRY, CENTRAL STATE UNIVERSITY

Purry capped off the Marauders’ season with a game-changing performance that spoiled Edward Waters’ homecoming in a 21-17 victory. Purry showcased elite playmaking ability and ball-hawking instincts, recording three interceptions, including two in crucial second-half drives and adding two tackles to lead the defensive effort. His relentless coverage and ability to read the quarterback anchored a Marauder defense that forced five turnovers in total. Purry’s standout effort not only sealed the win for Central State but also punctuated the season with one of the top individual defensive performances in the conference.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DAMON GRIFFIN II, CENTRAL STATE UNIVERSITY
Wide Receiver | Freshman | Columbus, Ohio
Griffin delivered an electrifying performance on special teams, sparking the Marauders’ momentum in their 21-17 victory over Edward Waters. Griffin tallied four kickoff returns for 216 total yards, highlighted by a 92-yard touchdown return that completely shifted the game’s momentum. His explosive speed and field vision consistently (averaged 54 yards/return) gave Central State prime field position throughout the contest.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – XZAVIER JACKSON, CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY
Quarterback | Freshman | Tampa, Fla.
Jackson had a career performance in the Panthers’ meeting with Kentucky State last week. He completed 32 of 49 passes for 425 yards and four touchdowns — both personal bests this season.
