SIAC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors: Dec. 16

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Women's Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Dec. 16, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week. Imani Harris and Shcira Fowles of Edward Waters University were recognized.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – IMANI HARRIS, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Point Guard | Junior | Bronx, N.Y.
Harris delivered an impressive week for the EWU Lady Tigers, helping lead them to a 2-0 showing in SIAC play while averaging 14.5 points, 4.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals on 45.5 percent shooting from the field in 26 minutes per game. Harris scored 11 points with five assists, three rebounds and two steals on 5-for-9 shooting, including one 3-pointer, in 21 minutes during the Lady Tigers’ 58-43 road victory over Spring Hill. The junior from the Bronx followed with 18 points, three assists, four rebounds and two steals on 5-for-13 shooting from the field in 31 minutes of action in EWU’s 71-42 road win over Albany State.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – SHCIRA FOWLES, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Forward | Senior | Harlem, N.Y.
Fowles turned in another strong week for the EWU Lady Tigers, helping lead them to a 2-0 showing in SIAC play while averaging 7.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 block and 1.0 steal in 25.5 minutes per game. She scored three points but pulled down a season-high 15 rebounds to go with two assists, a block and a steal during the Lady Tigers’ 58-43 road victory over Spring Hill.
Fowles followed with 11 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, a block and a steal on 4-for-7 shooting from the field in EWU’s 71-42 road win over Albany State.
