ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Women's Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Dec. 9, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.

Edward Waters) were recognized.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ATREONIA GARNER, CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY

Garner continues to put the SIAC on notice. The junior scored a game-high 32 points in Thursday’s win over Albany State, eclipsing 1,000 career points in just 69 games while adding 14 rebounds to secure her second double-double of the season. Garner followed with a 17-point performance against Spring Hill on Saturday. She shot 58% from the field against Albany State and 61% against Spring Hill.
NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK – SHCIRA FOWLES, EDWARD WATERS UNIVERSITY
Forward | Senior | Harlem, N.Y.
Fowles helped Edward Waters to a 2–1 finish last week and an appearance in the championship game of the inaugural HBCU Hoops Invitational. She averaged 6.3 points and led the Lady Tigers with 9.3 rebounds to go along with 2.6 assists.
