ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 11, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in games played last week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CEDRIC TAYLOR III, MOREHOUSE COLLEGE
Guard | Sophomore | Atlanta, Ga.
After setting a career-high 26 points against Clark Atlanta, Taylor established a new career high with a 29-point performance against Allen last week. Against Savannah State, Taylor led Morehouse with 21 points, shooting 6-10 from the field and 8-9 from the free-throw line. He also contributed six rebounds, two assists and three steals, playing a key role in the 65-59 victory.
Against the Yellow Jackets, Taylor delivered a dominant performance with a season-high 29 points on 10-13 shooting, including 2-4 from three and 7-8 from the line. He also recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds, along with three assists and a steal, leading Morehouse in the 72-52 win.
In a marathon 44-minute effort, Taylor registered in 20 points against Albany State, connecting on 7-14 shots, including two three-pointers. He added five rebounds and an assist in the win. For the week, Taylor averaged 23.3 points, seven rebounds and two assists per game.

Nelson got the start last week, going 6-for-7 from the field with 14 points in EWU’s 84-57 win over Allen. He also contributed three rebounds and connected on both 3-point attempts.
